Environmental Mission: "Over the past month, we have been building two vegetative screens/barriers to reduce pollution flow into nearby communities. Tree Fresno is organizing an Arbor Day (April 24, Fri) activity with the City of Fowler to tell the larger community about their little piece of the (future) FWY 99 vegetative corridor. There’s another one in Fresno at 99 and California, and I am working with the FUSD to construct one at Tehipite Middle School. This campus is located at the base of where three major roadways intersect. Somewhat unbelievable that kids are running track and breathing it all in, right there. By taking periodic air quality measurements, we anticipate that these trees and shrubs along the roadway will not only serve to beautify, but also to reduce pollution. "
