Event Details
The first Earth Day, on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with over 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
The 11th annual Earth Day Fresno is April 24, 10am – 4pm and held virtually from Fresno, Calif. while we continue to face the global pandemic. Our environmental festival has always been free and open to the public.
Guests would browse 90+ booths of local environmental organizations, green businesses, and community programs all working to make our valley a healthier place. Two entertainment stages would provide music and dance throughout the day.

The focus of Earth Day 2021 is climate change

Many fun videos, from tots to teens, are planned, including content from Fresno's Science Mobile, Fresno County Public Library's Bookmobile and The Discovery Center. Fresno’s favorite food trucks will provide grub and drinks. The adjacent Fresno Art Museum, working in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council, will be featuring a showcase of short environmental films at the Green Apple Video Competition.

Want to make a difference for the planet and our local community on Earth Day?

During this time of global awareness, it might seem challenging to take time out to have an impact on the health of the world around us. The air is clearer than ever, and we should be staying home, right? Well the good news is that there is still much you can do to help support your surroundings, and we've got some ways you can help.

Together, we can make a difference.

That's what Earth Day is about. Our event welcomes everyone, with different ways to participate beyond just as a spectator (though that's definitely the most fun): volunteer, donor, exhibitor, or vendor.

We are eternally grateful to the City of Fresno for their generous support and enthusiasm for the most important resource we have to share and care for: Our Earth.
